Project: Lisle Hill House
Builder: Kent Webster

This is a very traditionally detailed project in Wilmington, Vermont. An old house on the site was removed. Some parts of the old building were salvaged and neighbors saved some of the extensive perennials. The new house takes up less of the site leaving more room for a yard and garden. The sunporch on the southeast side of the house was created using storm/screen combination doors and cellar sash. I learned much from the builder on this project about traditional detailing and discovered that older buildings of this style followed many subtle rules of proportion and scale that are usually ignored nowadays.

Stonework was by the talented folks employed by Anderson Excavating.
